Building Character Through Creative Expression

In 2024, the Hermanus Music Academy (Enlighten’s Music Programme) provided 81 learners in Grades 2–12 with theory and practical lessons in marimba, strings, piano and recorder. A collaboration with the Whale Coast Symphony Orchestra at the FynArts Festival gave young musicians valuable performance experience and confidence. Beyond developing musical and artistic skills, participants carry discipline, creativity and self-assurance into other areas of life. Over the years, many have earned places at prestigious schools or secured internships through their artistic achievements.
